Hrachuhi (Hri) Grigorian

Hrachuhi Grigorian born in 1983, is a type designer and illustrator from Armenia. In 2004 she graduated from Vanadzor State Pedagogical University, department of fine arts and graphic design. Since graduation she has been creating illustrations for more than 15 books for a variety of publishing houses. From 2007 to 2017 she worked as senior type designer in the Armenian National Book Chamber and then until 2021 in the Armenian National Library as font designer. Her typefaces were displayed at exhibitions in Lincoln, London, Hampshire, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Munich, Alexandria, Yerevan and Oshakan.

Hrachuhi has create display and text Unicode typeface families with Armenian and Latin alphabet systems. Her typefaces were awarded 1-st, 2-nd, 3-rd prizes and special mention at the GRANSHAN Non-Latin Typedesign competition.

Since 2019 she is working as freelance illustrator and type designer. She is doing background illustrations and character turnaround for the animation studio MK TV based in Canada. And since 2021 Hrachuhi is also collaborating with Armenian app PicsArt as font designer and advisor. Since 2022 she is teaching font design at the Armenian State Academy of Fine Arts . Since 2022 she is the co-founder and general director of the Gallery Guest House.
